Race #7 of The Big Tire Challenge is now up!

- Ophelia

2:49 AM CST 9/03/04

Today, during usual pre-event activities there was a grievous accident. During a rev-tred freestyle finale, the Backdraft rev-tred truck came off of the debris pile at a bad angle, went soaring into the pit area, and finally came a stop. When the dust cleared, the pit area was destroyed, and the truck had sustained serious damage to the engine mechanism. The trucks front wheels no longer rotate - permanently disabling the truck from all further competition. Backdraft is one of our oldest rev-tred trucks and will be missed.

In a more positive note; the Big Tire Challenge is still going strong! Check out the 6th race in the point series, here.

As Ophelia said - we're working on a big change on this website. Look for a section dedicated specifically to photos - today's accident will be among the first pages loaded. You'll get to see our "speedway" stretch and our "spectators". It's all quite geeky - but it's fun. Same could be said for anything

Big Tire Challenge Race #5
Herman and Ophelia's 1/64 Scale Monster Trucks is about to go through a much needed change in layout and structure. Things are going to be moved, deleted, reorganized, and added. So dont be surprised if you go to check a certain page, and it no longer exists. I'll be making more updates soon about the sites progress. Thanks for checking back!

Big Tire Challenge Race #3 is up. Check it out!

2:13 AM CST 8/29/04

Oh? What's this?
Yes! Another update!
At the moment, we are at the beginning stages of a new and very long running point series that will most likely run till the end of this year. The trucks competing in this new point series shall be none other than the new larger wheeled 1/64 monster truck die-casts!
There have already been two races held with the new point series and coverage of the events are up and ready for reading. Big Tire Challenge Races

Hey everybody.
First off, I'd like to give thanks for those of you who are still checking here as often as you have been, even though Hermand and I havent been updating as much as we would like to.
However, I'm sorry to say that we dont have an update for racing/jump-off events at this time. Much has been going on in the way of jobs and other projects and such. But we haven't forgotten about our site or our little trucks. And how could we ever?
Herman and I are still collecting, and have recently aquired the last missing piece to our collection - the mighty Goldberg.
Of course, as soon as that happened, and we were able say our collection was complete, Hot Wheels released a new set of 1/64 scale trucks. But oh well, the collection continues, and neither one of us is complaining (although we wouldnt mind getting some trucks that were more accurate representations of their full scale couterparts).

That's all for now, sports fans. Keep checking back for more updates. It'll happen. Promise.

For your viewing pleasure the racing coverage from June is now up, the jump-of coverage will be up shortly, we have other surprises, pictures, and other such things that we have been working on. We're glad that you've stuck around with us and we hope to give you all more reasons to come back in the future.
See ya later sports fans!

Hello sports fans! Competition begins tomorrow! We’re still not entirely sure on the events schedule, but we will be sure to relay all of it on to you at the end of each day of competition. For the first time ever, two titles are up for grabs. Racing and Jump-Off. There will be more trucks in competition than ever before, too. Today, we are getting everything ready. So tune back in tomorrow, everybody. It’s gonna be a big day.

9:18 PM CST 6/03/04

Hey everyone. We've been holding a few competitions in preparation for the upcoming Summer Spectacular, and to test out our new "arena". The new venue will have a wheelie ramp (a new competition we have been holding lately), a jump-off ramp, our racing ramp, possibly a place for regular Hot Wheels racing (which we have been buying quite a few of, lately), and a few more surprises for an exhibition "freestyle" competition.

The floor area of this is 4x8. We are also working on an "audience", but we will let that be a surprise for when it happens. Pictures should start rolling in around the 8th of the 9th. We are trying to make this the most realistic die-cast monster truck competition available to monster truck fans online. To add to the realism of the event, we are going to be holding the event outdoors! The massive wooden floor area will keep the trucks off of hard concrete or grass (depending on weather conditions).

We are both very excited about how this will all go down. Keep checking back for more information on the upcoming events and all the surprises we are going to continuously be unveiling as the competition nears. With over one hundred and forty six monster trucks competing for two world titles, it'll be a show you won't want to miss.

See you later, sports fans!

12:20 PM CST 5/29/04

Hey everybody! I have been planning this summer's events out in more detail. There will be Tuff Truck competition (Which should really be a lot of fun), Hot Wheels racing, Monster Truck racing, Monster Truck jump-off competition, and some more surprises. In the trend of our website, none of this will just be us "using our hands" to simulate competition. This will all be based on the vehicle's own abilities.

Now that you have the "what", let's move on to the "when". After attending Monster Jam in Hutchinson, Kansas (Bounty Hunter, Scarlet Bandit, King Krunch, Destroyer, and Grave Digger) on Saturday, June 12th (A Perfect Circle is performing on the 11th, so we are missing the Friday night Monster Jam), we'll head back home, get all our pictures online on the 13th, and Monday the 14th will be the first day of our summer spectacular.

Check back on the 13th of June for more detailed information. You might want to check back before then, just to make sure everything here is still going alright.

See you later, sports fans!

I'm in the process of adding pictures to all of the Muscle Machines pages. Each Muscle Machine in our collection should have about 3 new pictures. Also adding new pages for the rest of the trucks we have just added to the collection.

- Ophelia

11:14 PM CST 5/03/04

Hey everybody! Boy, have we got news for all of you. We have a TON of new trucks in our league, including the rare Nitro Machine and Sting, but you have probably already seen them in the pictures. We currently are only missing ONE truck. Goldberg. If anyone wants to help us out, we'd really owe you. New pictures of all of this should be up around June, but trust me, that won't be the biggest part of it.

June will be host to our new "Motor Summer Spectacular"! Ophelia will be back with her trucks, and we'll have a couple of duplicates of your favorite trucks (Destroyer and Great Bite, just to name a few) in competition as well. But on top of the usual monster truck racing and jump-offs, we have recently come about my old collection of Hot Wheels cars! So, you guessed it, we will be holding a several hundred car racing series this June involving Hot Wheels cars from all the way back to the 1970's (and up to today, too).

We'll have the cameras out in full force this June, covering the events. Right now the trucks are running in exhibition matches, and our current racing leader is Destroyer. He'll be a true challenge for current racing champ Hot Wheels CS.

Maybe I have said too much. Keep checking back with us for more details on all the surprises we'll have for you this summer! Lists of cars in the Hot Wheels league, lists of trucks competing, and a rough schedule for the days that competition will occur.

See you there, sports fans!

Still continuing to update the March Photos page, fixed the broken link to view the pictures of our new racing ramp (here). Also added a page with our complete collection of trucks HERE.

Making a bit of progress. The collection of photos from March are being added HERE. Along with photos of Wild Hair and Jason Witte at the 81 Speedway in Kansas HERE. Also adding more individual photos of the trucks on their pages.

6:05 PM CST 4/02/04

Sorry for the holdup guys, but I DO have lots of pictures to post on here for everyone to look at. We've got a new method of racing the trucks and some wonderful additions to our collection. Got individual shots of all the Muscle Machines, photos of our entire monster truck collection and some new updated pics of trucks already on the site. Getting it all on here as fast as I can, though the server is being a pain and is selective in when and how many pictures it lets me upload.

Hey everybody, Herman and I were outside with the trucks and came across something a bit odd. Our metallic Blue Thunder's silver paint started coming off in the humidity. Have a look - Ophelia

I'm currently in the very flat state of Kansas! Herman and I are taking many pictures of the trucks, have a few surprises and have many updates and construction to do on the site. Be sure to keep checking back with us for changes in the coming weeks!
...Please?

Batmobile has finally arrived!! Shipping was delayed, but he's finally here! Batmobiles Page. Our Spring Spectacular Events have been coming along great! See how all of the trucks are doing in competitions on our Coverage page.
Oh, and I just noticed that the link to view our collection as of November 2003 wasnt working, so I fixed that, and to save you the trouble of scrolling down to click on the link, here it is again: Our Collection As Of November 2003

2:23 AM CST 2/07/04

This has been an exciting month in the world of 1/64 die-cast monster trucks. With a total of 10 new trucks released so far, Herman and I are playing catch-up and are on the lookout for the new releases. Specificaly - Eradicator New Style, Destroyer, Taz, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles (purple) and Five-O. The Batmobile is on its way, though taking its sweet time. USHRA doesn't seem to be too great with making its deliveries on time. Anyone else have the same problem with them before? If anyone has any of the trucks we are looking for, Herman and I will gladly pay a reasonable price to get them from you. Contact Us

What a big day it has been for Herman and Ophelia's 1/64 Scale Monster Trucks! While on a truck hunt, Herman was lucky enough to score a Pure Adrenalin, Monster Mutt and an errored version of Shocker! Click Here To See Them. That makes our collection nearly complete! Our Batmobile die-cast is on its way and should arrive soon.
Also, thanks to Herman we now have photos of the Monster Jam event that took place at the Kemper Arena in Kansas City (January 31st). 61 pictures total! Here they are: Some very nice angles and wheelie shots, along with our now signature photos of the drivers holding their 1/64 scale trucks.

9:38 PM CST 1/27/04

Hey everyone! A new die-cast truck, Batmobile, was released today. USHRA.com is already out of the things, so it's another one that we are still hunting for. Just a note to anyone out there who reads this site, that we are willing to buy die-cast trucks from you if you have them in your area, and don't want an arm and a leg for them (Over 5 bucks, not including shipping).
We're looking for Monster Mutt, Shocker, Pure Adrenalin, and now The Batmobile.
Just on further note, this may be the start of a run of DC comic book trucks. Because, you know, there just weren't enough sponsorship trucks. Ah well. New die-cast!
- Herman

7:07 PM CST 1/25/04

Herman has come up with a new Points System with which we will be running the trucks from now on, instead of the previous bracket system used for the December and January Series events. For more details go here - New Points System

- Ophelia

12:29 PM CST 1/24/04

Hey everybody! The January Series has now been posted online. Once again, we have minimal coverage, but the full bracket and pictures are online. There's a surprising new winner, too. After this tournament, there will be a new way of doing things around here. The site will start running a points series based on multiple events coverage well over a month and possibly over two. The details are still being worked out about this, but we have big plans. Also, we have a new banner on this page (that you have probably already noticed), and its of one of the new 2004 die-cast trucks, too! We are currently hunting down the remaining three die-cast from the first wave, and hoping to have them all by the second. However these trucks won't join the fray until March or even later when Ophelia is able to return to Kansas with her trucks (which is by tradition when new trucks are opened). We're all looking forward to an exciting few months here at our site, and hope that all of you are too. Maybe we can pull in a lot of new readers and followers of the storylines that will develop as the points battle is waged here in the coming weeks and months. Hope to see you at the races, everyone!

Here's a few pictures of our colletion in November 2003. We've had these pics for a while now, just forgot to post them on the site and not just the link on the forums.

9:12 PM CST 1/21/04

Hello again, my apologies for being so late with updating the site. Havent had a lot going on, just been lazy. With my return from Kansas, Herman and I have a variety of lovely monster truck show pictures to share with you all. We attended the Thunder Nationals at the Kansas Coliseum for the Friday and Saturday shows (as well as the Pit Party before the Saturday show at which we procured autographed photos from Guy Wood of Bulldozer, Terry Woodcock of Cyclops, Mike Nitzke of Rambo, Bruce Haney of Bad News, and Denver Echternkamp of Thunderstruck).
We were also lucky enough to attend the CFP show in Enid, Oklahoma on January 17th which proved to be quite the event. We met with Dan Runte of Bigfoot, got autographs from him and some of the other drivers.
The photos for both events are going to be posted under the Coverage section of our site.

New additions have also been made to our Smash and Crash collection - Hot Wheels, Maximum Destruction, Flashfire, Chillin Villain, and El Toro Loco. Pictures for these trucks should be coming soon.
And of course, we are one of the many in the race to get our hands on the newly released 1/64 trucks. On one of our many stops to Wal-Mart we were lucky enough to get a hold of Expelled, who was all tucked away in the very back of the shelf. But since we are mad about these little trucks we usually take apart the whole section looking for new trucks to add to our collection. No escape from us. One down, 3 more to go.

I'm back from Kansas, and November Nationals are completed. Pages for all of the trucks that competed in the Nationals have been added to the "Trucks" page, along with the official standings of all the trucks in the event. Results of the November Nationals . Coverage and pictures from the November Nationals are coming soon!
- Ophelia

9:06 PM CST 11/08/03

Hey everybody! As you can tell, November 9th is tomorrow! We're both very excited as it has been a long time since we have gotten back together, and excited that tomorrow we get to begin the November Nationals! Expect some coverage, but not in a lot of detail as seventy nine trucks is a lot! I hope everyone has a wonderful day tomorrow, as I will be having one.
- Herman

7:17 PM CST 11/07/03

Hi there! The November Nationals are fast approaching, but we had time for one more non-November Nationals event...the Muscle Machines vs. Hot Wheels Classics! Which league came out on top?? Find out on our Coverage page!

2:59 AM CST 11/03/03

We have added a new "Muscle Machines" section on the "Trucks" page, along with new coverage of a Muscle Machines Exhibition Match (which is the first of its kind). Check it out!

10:49 PM CST 10/30/03

Hello, All. We're working hard on the site (well, Ophelia is. I'm just art direction). We've switched to the new white color scheme and are making new banners and pages to suite the new color scheme. This site has a future ahead of it. Tomorrow, we are having our "Fright Night Finals" as a celebration of Halloween and as the finals for the September/October series that has been running in preparation for the November Nationals. What is this all about you, ask?
After the July series that included the classic nineteen trucks, the September/October series was started and recorded. (Standings will be posted for all the tournaments, as well as the averages of the currently competing trucks.) This series has run for 29 races and will conclude tomorrow evening at the special event. This will also be the last time that this set of trucks competes on its own. The September/October series has been to determine the placing of the original nineteen trucks in the sixty plus truck lineup that will make up the November Nationals. This event will also mark the return of Ophelia to Kansas (where our tournaments are held) and that event, has been why the introduction of all the other trucks has been delayed.
So in short, prepare for our very first coverage here at "Herman and Ophelia's 1/64 Monster Trucks". For more information about our jump-offs and their rules and regulations, please visit our "Coverage" page.
- Herman

10:20 PM CST 10/29/03

The creation of "1/64 Monster Jam: A New Perspective". All (or at least a good deal) of the individual "Trucks" pages should be completed by the 31st.
