The first match of the new series! This time, it’s only the larger, newer trucks in competition. If Hot Wheels feels that is time to retire the old trucks – so do we. They will now only compete in the huge every-so-often tournaments that are absolute nightmares to keep track of. The number of older trucks has also led to our decision to only use the new trucks – a point series is now easily kept track of. With so few trucks, too, we can have every race count for every truck.

Without further ado, I present the results from our first jump-off event (Racing will only be held at the larger events, too). In competition tonight, are Blue Thunder, Bounty Hunter, Live Wire, Lone Eagle, Pony Express, Pure Adrenalin, Steel Striker, and Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtle – the usual cast.

8th Place – Blue Thunder
7th Place – Pure Adrenalin
6th Place – Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtle (Red)

And thus ends the first round. A surprising list of first round eliminations – but as we have seen in the past, and will surely see again – the diecast trucks are only similar to their life size counterparts in image. The next round would be surprising, too.

5th Place – Bounty Hunter
4th Place – Live Wire

Only two eliminations in the second round – the shock of it all! The next round would have even fewer.

3rd Place – Steel Striker

That left Pony Express and Lone Eagle in the final.

2nd Place – Lone Eagle
1st Place – Pony Express

The underdog truck wins the first race. Will this set the standard for the rest of the season, or is it just a lucky break? Lone Eagle put up a very good fight, and may well be the biggest contender to win it all. At such an early stage, it is all guesswork. Only time will tell who will win the overall point race.
